7 gold biscuits seized at IGI

first_imgNew Delhi: CISF arrested a passenger with 7 gold biscuits weighing around 820 grams from IGI Airport, New Delhi. An AI SATS staff was also nabbed in this regard. On July 3 at 11 pm, CISF surveillance and intelligence staff at international arrival piers of Terminal 3, IGI Airport observed suspicious movements of a passenger and an AI SATS staff identified as Dharamveer Dauchania near washroom of de-boarding gate No. 10. The passenger was later identified as Main lal Meena, who had arrived from Dammam by Air India flight at Terminal-3. They were kept under physical & electronic surveillance and it was observed that both of them were continuously in contact over mobile phone. The AI SATS staff was intercepted and physical search was carried out. 3 gold biscuits were recovered from him. Subsequently, the passenger was intercepted and the matter was informed to Customs/AIU officials. The passenger was taken to Customs office and on searching, 4 gold biscuits were also recovered from him. DDCA renames Feroz Shah Kotla as Arun Jaitley stadium

first_imgNew Delhi: The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) on Thursday renamed the Feroz Shah Kotla as Arun Jaitley stadium in memory of the late politician-cum-sports-administrator.In a glittering function, Home Minister Amit Shah digitally inaugurated the renamed Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in presence of late finance minister’s family. DDCA also unveiled a new pavilion stand at the Feroz Shah Kotla after skipper Virat Kohli, who recently became the most successful India captain in Test cricket, surpassing MS Dhoni. And whatever DDCA does for Arun Jaitley is not enough given his contribution.” Cricketer-turned-politician Chetan Chauhan also paid rich tribute to Jaitley. “Arun Jaitleyji was president for 14 years and I was vice president. He was our friend, guide. Whenever we needed direction, we would help us. The biggest help he did was to rebuilt the Kotla stadium.
